You do not need to own a club eligible vehicle to belong to the NZVCC, however here is a list of the official classifications of club eligible vehicles.

Veteran Vehicles-Motor Vehicles constructed prior to 31st December 1918
Vintage Vehicles - Motor Vehicles constructed between 1st January 1919 and 31st December 1931
Post Vintage Vehicles-Motor Vehicles constructed between 1st January 1932 and 31st December 1945
Post War Vehicles-Motor Vehicles constructed between 1st January 1946 and 31st December 1960
Post 1960 vehicles-Motor Vehicles constructed between 1st January 1961 and 31st December 1980
Post 1980 vehicles-Motor Vehicles constructed after 1st January 1981 provided that no vehicle is accepted for this class until January 1st of the year that is thirty years after its original year of construction
